 This book was written as part of a big scientific work of researching of relations between fencing, stick work, European fist fight and fighting in Europe in the 15th – 20th centuries.

The authors intended to create material that could serve as an encyclopedia where ordinary person could find information about British martial arts.

The book is divided into three parts: Fencing, Boxing and Wrestling. Each part pays attention to the history of art;  some cases in the art of fencing, boxing and wrestling are confirmed by excerpts from ancient literature works. Each section of the book provides detailed description of the technical elements. This treatise is a useful source for both beginners and experienced practitioners about presented types of martial arts.
